Gabby took her second trip to Dallas last weekend. We were very excited about this special trip because it would be the first time Gabby met her cousins and Aunt Danielle from Japan. Once we arrived we walked in the house and were greeted by 3 squealing little girls and one adorable baby girl, Molly. As I go to ooh and ahh over the little one and receive hugs from all of my other sweet nieces, to our astonishment, Uncle Mark appeared out of no where! Uncle Mark was supposed to be in Iraq, but when he arrived they requested he return home. He took two weeks of leave and flew half way across the world to visit his family. What a great surprise! I was holding Gabby and began introducing her to Molly. Instantly they held hands! It was adorable, I only wish I could have taken a picture of them holding hands. Such little babies reaching out to each other, it shows how some people naturally "connect" to one another. The girls had a wonderful weekend together. Since Gabby and Molly were born only 6 days apart they ate at about the same time, napped the same amount, and played on the floor cooing at each other with three other little onlookers taking turns playing mama. It was adorable seeing all of the girls together and I believe it's the best visit we've ever had with the entire family together.
Everyone knows that being a parent is full of sacrifices and some are more difficult than others. So far being a Mom I have "sacrificed" my skin thanks to stretch marks, my youthfulness, thanks to the worries that cause the new wrinkles I notice weekly, my pretty legs thanks to the varicose veins I received during pregnancy that never went away, the comfort of sitting thanks to the back pain I have had ever since pregnancy, a good night’s sleep, and the list goes on... However, none of these things truly feel like a sacrifice (although I do miss sleep and my non-damaged body) they are just part of being a mommy and I wouldn't trade parenthood for anything! Today, however, a very difficult sacrifice was made, although I know it was the only choice. Ranger, the dog Michael and I had for 7 ½ years, was given to a new home today. He bit Gabby on her head when she was about 9 months old and then about a week ago he nipped at her and unfortunately that was the last straw. M...
