Lake House Day

This weekend we went to Grandma and Papa's lake house and it was quite eventful.  Gabby adores the lake house and begs to go there constantly.  Once there is mention of the lake house there is no backing out, so even though Daddy drove over 2000 miles for work during the week (traveling every single day of the week) we agreed to go.

This weekend Daddy got off of work a little early on Friday and then the three of us headed to the lake house where Aunt Ellen, Grandma, and Papa were waiting for us.  We arrived around 9:30 and stayed up until 11:00 visiting with Gabby snuggling with Aunt Ellen the entire time.  When we awoke the next morning Gabby was so excited.  She just wanted to play outside, so her and Papa rode in the golf cart and visited with family.

We had a lot to squeeze in in one day.  We took some Halloween photos, celebrated Mom's belated birthday, fished, made s'mores, played in the tree house, and took a boat ride.  Gabby stated that her favorite part of the trip was playing with her second cousin, Cade.  So sweet.  It was a relaxing visit with too much delicious food and even with truck trouble on the way home the trip was wonderful!

Nanny painted Gabby's face (per her request)

Thanksgiving 2013

Thanksgiving Day we all with to Grandma and Papa’s house to enjoy a traditional Cajun dinner and it was delicious.  Gigi, Blakeleigh, Brandy, Nanny, Uncle Patrick, Grandma, Papa, Aunt Lisa, Aunt Christine, and Keith were all there to celebrate with us.  Gabby enjoyed the day immensely playing with Blakeleigh the entire day and even trying to snuggle with her during her nap time.  Gabby made everyone sing "Happy Birthday" to Mommy and she blew out the candles Then Brandy and Blakeleigh spent two nights with us.  We had lots of fun going to Mud Pie to make handprint Christmas cookie plates and hanging out at Grandma’s house.  Gabby enjoyed very much singing Happy Birthday to Mommy with the family and blowing out my candle.  The night of my birthday Gabby spend the night with Grandma and Papa and Nanny, Uncle Patrick, Mommy and Daddy went to the movies together for the first time ever.  It was a very fun weekend.   T...

Sacrafices for My Angel

Everyone knows that being a parent is full of sacrifices and some are more difficult than others. So far being a Mom I have "sacrificed" my skin thanks to stretch marks, my youthfulness, thanks to the worries that cause the new wrinkles I notice weekly, my pretty legs thanks to the varicose veins I received during pregnancy that never went away, the comfort of sitting thanks to the back pain I have had ever since pregnancy, a good night’s sleep, and the list goes on... However, none of these things truly feel like a sacrifice (although I do miss sleep and my non-damaged body) they are just part of being a mommy and I wouldn't trade parenthood for anything! Today, however, a very difficult sacrifice was made, although I know it was the only choice. Ranger, the dog Michael and I had for 7 ½ years, was given to a new home today. He bit Gabby on her head when she was about 9 months old and then about a week ago he nipped at her and unfortunately that was the last straw. M...

Pink or Blue Skittle

Okay so as requested by many, I am posting a picture of my belly. A few people told me that they needed to see my belly before guessing the sex of the baby. When Michael took this picture last night we were both convinced my belly grew from the time I woke up. Please comment whether you think it's a boy or a girl or email me and let me know what you think because I would love to make a little scrapbook page of who guessed what. We will let you know October 30th, whether or not you are correct.
