St. Gabby's Day!!!

Gabby has literally had 5 birthday celebrations to turn the oh so desired 5. I will discuss them out of order so we can begin with the actual day, March 17th.  She has wanted to be 5 years old since she was two.  She has always thought that is the age you become a "big girl" which she has desired so very much.  She was ecstatic on this day! Here is a glimpse into her birthday celebration.

Grandma and Papa started the day off by coming over super early in the morning to set up the birthday festivities.  They brought Gabby a sprinkle doughnut and we celebrated her birth by singing "Happy Birthday" and having her blow out a candle.

After she finished her doughnut and got dressed for school she begged to see her birthday present.  Daddy presented her with the desired scooter, which she proceeded to ride in circles around the house.  She was so happy she got her desired gift!! It was adorable.

Grandma and Papa pretended to leave and we "left" for school about 30 minutes early.  When Gabby walked out to see Grandma and Papa's crazy surprise she flipped out.  50 Flamingos flew in to wish Gabby a happy 5th birthday!!  She was giggling and running through all of the flamingos, even taking the time to greet them and inspect their bows and hats.

Gabby thanking Grandma for the funnest gift ever!

After school we exchanged Aunt Sharon's family's' gift and getting THREE toys with the money.  She played with her new toys all day long.

Immediately after dinner with Grandma and Papa and Mommy and Daddy Gabby opened her last gift for the day and immediately tried it on.  She required that we go outside and have a "photo shoot".

Gabby drew water on the sidewalk and pretended to swim in it

After taking Gabby to the park with Abby we decided to wind the day down by singing "Happy Birthday" once again and having some puppy cake.

Finally, 5!

Happy Birthday Gabby.  Mommy and Daddy cherish every day we spend with you.  You are so sweet, loving, fun, and funny.  You complete our world! I know you will do great things in life.  We love you!

Sacrafices for My Angel

Everyone knows that being a parent is full of sacrifices and some are more difficult than others. So far being a Mom I have "sacrificed" my skin thanks to stretch marks, my youthfulness, thanks to the worries that cause the new wrinkles I notice weekly, my pretty legs thanks to the varicose veins I received during pregnancy that never went away, the comfort of sitting thanks to the back pain I have had ever since pregnancy, a good night’s sleep, and the list goes on... However, none of these things truly feel like a sacrifice (although I do miss sleep and my non-damaged body) they are just part of being a mommy and I wouldn't trade parenthood for anything! Today, however, a very difficult sacrifice was made, although I know it was the only choice. Ranger, the dog Michael and I had for 7 ½ years, was given to a new home today. He bit Gabby on her head when she was about 9 months old and then about a week ago he nipped at her and unfortunately that was the last straw. M

Interesting Fact

Today I went to the doctor for my now bi-weekly appointment. This is only the second time he has gotten out a measuring tape and measured my engorged stomach. My boss was talking about how interesting it is when they measure you...so I asked my doctor about it today and it's true! Whenever you are in your 20 something week and further along until very close to the end of pregnancy the number of centimeters from your pelvic bone to the top of your uterus should approximately be the same as the number of weeks pregnant you are. This week I was 28 centimeters and I am 28 weeks! So Gabrielle is right on schedule.
