Two and a Half!

It has been far too long since I've written because Gabby has been keeping me busy (not to mention Mike being gone more means I am busier all around).  Today to celebrate Gabby's 2 1/2 year mark I will give you a little insight into the milestones she has met:
  • Gabby can snip paper
  • She talks constantly in complete sentences: "Mommy you my best friend. Come here and play with me!" were her phrases of the day
  • The funnies words she says: peanut butter, balloon...basically anything with an "l" in it
  • Gabby can ride a tricycle
  • Gabby can navigate and i-phone, find her apps, and play them
  • Gabby can put on her own socks and shoes
  • She can eat with a spoon and fork without any help
  • She can color with paper
  • She can count to 11
  • She knows all of her shapes
  • She know how to spell stop
  • She can pick up after her own spills (when she wants to)
  • She has an imagination
  • She knows words that I have never said to her
  • She can do basic puzzles
  • She can problem solve without help
  • She makes her own jokes
  • She can sing at least 5 songs and know the motions
Gabby loves to:
  • Paint
  • Blow bubbles
  • Draw with chalk outside
  • Play with her friends
  • Feed Marley
  • Go on walks
  • Go to the zoo/farm
  • Make bracelets
  •  Have tea parties
  • Read books
  •  Boss us around
  • Play with her baby doll house
  • Swim
  • Glue things on paper
In general, Gabby makes us laugh every day and she is so smart she truly surprises us at least once a day. I cannot express how amazingly sweet, loving, and intelligent my sweet baby girl is.

Seeing it all in a list really makes you say wow! She is such an exceptional, intelligent, unique little girl. :) Kudos to her mom and dad for working so hard with her! She is brilliant but I doubt she could spell at age 2 1/2 without a diligent and caring mommy. She's a lucky girl.

Thanksgiving 2013

Thanksgiving Day we all with to Grandma and Papa’s house to enjoy a traditional Cajun dinner and it was delicious.  Gigi, Blakeleigh, Brandy, Nanny, Uncle Patrick, Grandma, Papa, Aunt Lisa, Aunt Christine, and Keith were all there to celebrate with us.  Gabby enjoyed the day immensely playing with Blakeleigh the entire day and even trying to snuggle with her during her nap time.  Gabby made everyone sing "Happy Birthday" to Mommy and she blew out the candles Then Brandy and Blakeleigh spent two nights with us.  We had lots of fun going to Mud Pie to make handprint Christmas cookie plates and hanging out at Grandma’s house.  Gabby enjoyed very much singing Happy Birthday to Mommy with the family and blowing out my candle.  The night of my birthday Gabby spend the night with Grandma and Papa and Nanny, Uncle Patrick, Mommy and Daddy went to the movies together for the first time ever.  It was a very fun weekend.   T...

Sacrafices for My Angel

Everyone knows that being a parent is full of sacrifices and some are more difficult than others. So far being a Mom I have "sacrificed" my skin thanks to stretch marks, my youthfulness, thanks to the worries that cause the new wrinkles I notice weekly, my pretty legs thanks to the varicose veins I received during pregnancy that never went away, the comfort of sitting thanks to the back pain I have had ever since pregnancy, a good night’s sleep, and the list goes on... However, none of these things truly feel like a sacrifice (although I do miss sleep and my non-damaged body) they are just part of being a mommy and I wouldn't trade parenthood for anything! Today, however, a very difficult sacrifice was made, although I know it was the only choice. Ranger, the dog Michael and I had for 7 ½ years, was given to a new home today. He bit Gabby on her head when she was about 9 months old and then about a week ago he nipped at her and unfortunately that was the last straw. M...

Pink or Blue Skittle

Okay so as requested by many, I am posting a picture of my belly. A few people told me that they needed to see my belly before guessing the sex of the baby. When Michael took this picture last night we were both convinced my belly grew from the time I woke up. Please comment whether you think it's a boy or a girl or email me and let me know what you think because I would love to make a little scrapbook page of who guessed what. We will let you know October 30th, whether or not you are correct.
