Baby Girl's First Mani/Pedi

Yesterday Grandma and I took Gabby for her first manicure and pedicure.  I've wanted to do this for a very long time, but I wanted to make sure she was old enough to experience that this was a special treat.  "Aunt KK" (my best friend, Kasey), told us about a place that has a special chair for little girls, so naturally that is the place we chose.

Gabrielle and I had a difficult morning due to her behavior, (she's had an ear infection for over two weeks so I am trying to cut her some slack, poor baby) so a relaxing, fun activity was needed, for both of us to unwind and calm down.

Grandma, Gabby, and I arrived at the spa and chose our nail color.  Gabby settled on light pink finger nails, bright pink toe nails, and green flowers.  I decided to have them simply paint her nails rather than a full pedicure, because I wasn't sure how long her attention span would be.  She was highly interested in the water, so I suppose next time we may let her try a full pedicure.  The lady who painted Gabby's nails was super sweet to her, as was the man painting my nails.  They treated her like a princess and kept telling her things like, "You look like an angel."

I think the most adorable part of the process was when they completed her nails, green gems in the center of her flowers and all, she carefully held her nails up as to not accidentally smudge them.  She did this even once they were dry and carefully held her sucker she earned for allowing her nails to dry. I really enjoyed creating a memory with Gabby and Grandma.  It is very rare that I pamper myself, so it was wonderful to do it with two of my favorite people!

Thanksgiving 2013

Thanksgiving Day we all with to Grandma and Papa’s house to enjoy a traditional Cajun dinner and it was delicious.  Gigi, Blakeleigh, Brandy, Nanny, Uncle Patrick, Grandma, Papa, Aunt Lisa, Aunt Christine, and Keith were all there to celebrate with us.  Gabby enjoyed the day immensely playing with Blakeleigh the entire day and even trying to snuggle with her during her nap time.  Gabby made everyone sing "Happy Birthday" to Mommy and she blew out the candles Then Brandy and Blakeleigh spent two nights with us.  We had lots of fun going to Mud Pie to make handprint Christmas cookie plates and hanging out at Grandma’s house.  Gabby enjoyed very much singing Happy Birthday to Mommy with the family and blowing out my candle.  The night of my birthday Gabby spend the night with Grandma and Papa and Nanny, Uncle Patrick, Mommy and Daddy went to the movies together for the first time ever.  It was a very fun weekend.   T...

Sacrafices for My Angel

Everyone knows that being a parent is full of sacrifices and some are more difficult than others. So far being a Mom I have "sacrificed" my skin thanks to stretch marks, my youthfulness, thanks to the worries that cause the new wrinkles I notice weekly, my pretty legs thanks to the varicose veins I received during pregnancy that never went away, the comfort of sitting thanks to the back pain I have had ever since pregnancy, a good night’s sleep, and the list goes on... However, none of these things truly feel like a sacrifice (although I do miss sleep and my non-damaged body) they are just part of being a mommy and I wouldn't trade parenthood for anything! Today, however, a very difficult sacrifice was made, although I know it was the only choice. Ranger, the dog Michael and I had for 7 ½ years, was given to a new home today. He bit Gabby on her head when she was about 9 months old and then about a week ago he nipped at her and unfortunately that was the last straw. M...

Pink or Blue Skittle

Okay so as requested by many, I am posting a picture of my belly. A few people told me that they needed to see my belly before guessing the sex of the baby. When Michael took this picture last night we were both convinced my belly grew from the time I woke up. Please comment whether you think it's a boy or a girl or email me and let me know what you think because I would love to make a little scrapbook page of who guessed what. We will let you know October 30th, whether or not you are correct.
